Abbotts Hill ES 4th graders are using Web Path Express on Destiny, Galileo & biographies in the Media Center to research information
about the famous person they will be presenting as a “Living Museum” at the end
of the month. Step 1 will be happening Feb. 3 – 5.

Use Tellagami to create an avatar to explain the basic rules for online safety to 3rd-5th grade students.

At Johns Creek High School, the morning newscast will be featuring an interview with Matt Bosarge to promote the use of the library’s new tablet readers, for both students and teachers to check out. Students and teachers will be able to ‘test-drive’ the tablets all day from a special display in the Media Center.

Georgia Virtual School Georgia

At the Georgia Virtual School (GaVS), we are celebrating Digital Learning Day by gathering examples from teachers and students as to how they have used technology within or outside the classroom. Submissions will be shared with GaVS students, teachers, and other stakeholders on February 5th. Teachers and students will submit an example as a screenshot or URL, so that they can be compiled into an electronic flip book.

We are inviting parents out to show them the resources and programs that are linked to their child's learning. We are actually doing an entire Digital Learning Week with the emphasis on Wednesday. Kids get to bring their parents to technology class all week. Students are bringing their own devices along with parents.

We have many digital learning opportunities going on throughout our school on Feb.5, 2014, Fourth grade class is creating Figurative Language Trading Cards which reinforces learning and allows students to synthesize various forms of figurative language. Kindergarten is taking persuasive writing to new heights by creating Photostories with sound bites. Our fabulous TAG teacher's classes are using Tynker to complete their Hour of Code projects while third grade is breaking down, modeling and solving complex word problems with Math Playground's Thinking blocks.

New Prospect Elementary is celebrating Digital Learning Day for two weeks, beginning Monday, January 27. Before our live daily broadcast, students will view videos from Common Sense Media showing the responsibilities of Digital Citizenship. Each morning, our news anchors will discuss proper ways for students to use technology. Our media center will highlight careers in the technology field.
