Engaging Students, Celebrating Educators, Creating Better Schools.

Days Until Digital Learning Day: February 5, 2014

To achieve a fundamental transformation of education and help students meet the higher performance set by the common core state standards, the very culture of how teachers are supported must change.

- Bob Wise, Alliance for Excellent Education

Communities of Practice

Professional learning opportunities are essential for teachers, especially in the twenty-first-century learner-centered environment. Online communities of practice (CoPs) are an effective way for teachers and administrators to meet professional development needs. Members of an online CoP can collaborate with peers across the state, country, and world to exchange ideas and discuss challenges and successes. Some CoPs are broad and cover many topics, while others are focused on a particular area, such as assessment.

EPIC-Ed

Check out EPIC-ed, a community of practice focused on supporting community members in the digital conversion process. Community members can participate in discussions and blog posts, as well as access best practices and resources.
